The USA : a more or less open country in a globalized world
Introduction :
The USA is one of the fourth largest country in the world and the third most populous with around 331 million inhabitants in 2020. It is also the most powerful country in the world being the most dominant economic and military power. Likewise, its cultural imprint spans the world, led in large part by its popular culture expressed in music, movies and television.
The USA embody democracy and capitalism and have played a key role in turning the world in a more globalized system. But under Donald Trump’s presidency (2016-2020) the country openly asserted its will to put America first, regardless of the consequences on the rest of the world.
